Burlington Stores Names Whisk Logistics 2025 Carrier of the Year for Port Drayage
What consistent port drayage performance really requires — and the team behind it.
Burlington Stores has named Whisk Logistics, LLC its 2025 Carrier of the Year for Port Drayage.
Receiving this recognition from a customer operating at Burlington’s scale is an honor, and one we do not take lightly.
What consistent performance requires
For retailers operating at national scale, carrier performance is built over thousands of individual shipments and decisions: on-time execution, appointment compliance, communication, responsiveness, and the ability to recover when something does not go according to plan.
A Carrier of the Year recognition reflects consistency over time, not simply a strong month or quarter.
At the Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach, delivering that level of consistency is less straightforward than a scorecard might suggest.
Terminal gate schedules can change on short notice, sometimes midweek. Appointment systems are not standardized across the port complex, requiring dispatchers to work within a different set of rules at each terminal. Free time can be consumed even while appointment availability or terminal conditions limit when a container can realistically be recovered. A single terminal delay can disrupt an entire day’s plan.
None of that is unusual here. It is the operating environment.
The work is absorbing it before the customer feels it.
That is the practical standard behind consistent port drayage performance. Not whether disruptions occur, because they will. The real test is how effectively the operation responds before those disruptions affect the customer.
Who earned it
This recognition belongs to our operating team.
Our dispatchers rebuild the day when a terminal changes a shift and a completed plan no longer works.
Our drivers stay at congested terminals for hours when necessary to make sure a last-free-day container gets pulled.
Our planners and customer service team resolve issues before customers ever see them.
And our administrative team closes out every move so documentation and billing are accurate the first time.
A Carrier of the Year award is not the product of one person or one strong month. It is the result of a team executing consistently, including on the days when nothing goes according to plan.
Looking ahead
We are grateful to the Burlington Stores team for the partnership, the trust they place in us, and the standard they hold us to.
Recognition from a customer that understands the demands of port drayage carries particular weight.
